Vermont Automated Notification Service: User Satisfaction Survey

The Vermont Department of Corrections (DOC) initiated the Vermont Automated Notification Service (VANS) on November 16, 2009. The VANS is a free and confidential automated victim information and notification service that provides registered victims, family members, affected persons, community members, and DOC staff with timely and accurate information concerning an offender’s status, location, movement, and upcoming releases through an automated phone call, email, and/or a letter.
