Police in Schools: Public Perceptions

Observational data suggest that there is wide inter- and intra-departmental variation in the emphasis placed on each of these roles depending upon the type of school to which a School Resource Officer (SRO) is assigned (i.e., a middle school vs. a high school), the personality and particular orientation of an SRO, and the level of crime and disorder in a school.
