Electronic Control Device (ECD) Data Report
Group: Governor’s Office of Crime Control and Prevention
In 2011, the Maryland General Assembly passed House Bill 507 requiring law enforcement agencies that issue electronic control devices (ECDs) to their law enforcement officers report certain data on all ECD discharges. The Governor’s Office of Crime Control & Prevention (GOCCP) and the Police Training Commission worked with local law enforcement agencies to develop an efficient, user-friendly format for recording and reporting data. HB 507 requires that specific details be recorded by agencies, and submitted to GOCCP within a designated time frame.
