Core Prevention Initiative Evaluation
Group: Wyoming Center for Criminal Justice Research
Between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011, 19 providers worked to institutionalize prevention strategies and build capacity in all of Wyoming’s 23 counties. They were funded through the Core Prevention Initiative which combines Federal Prevention Block Grant funds with the Community Integration Grant (CIG) and Suicide prevention funding. The focus continued to shift toward the use of evidence-based programs and environmental strategies. Process data were gathered and reported for each strategy or program by each provider, and outcome data were collected and analyzed on youth and adults through pre- and post-surveying on risk and protective factor constructs.
