Telephone Study of School-Aged Youth
Group: South Carolina Department of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services
This study consisted of a telephone survey of 2,000 adolescents ages 14 to 17 in South Carolina. The purpose of the study was to collect and analyze data about alcohol and other drug use by adolescents and to determine the extent of problems that indicate substance abuse and/or dependence among this age group. The study also reflected trends among the respondents with regard to their treatment history and perceived need for treatment.
